Reservoir Engineering Fundamentals
Fundamental of reservoir engineering is understanding the impact of geologic heterogeneity on reservoir behavior, which influences selection of perforations, well locations, injection patterns, and infill drilling. The thickness (or net pay) of a formation that contributes to production or injection of fluids is important to most all reservoir engineering problems and must be identified from the gross thickness of a geologic formation. This video includes:
- Examples of fluid flow in the presence of geologic heterogeneity,
- Selection of cutoffs when selecting net pay
- Identification of flow units and lateral continuity
- example problems.
